Thunderstorm over Lemgo, Germany



We had quite a thunderstorm this night, but I realized to late that it was coming, so I had no time to prepare well:

I packed my tripod and the camera bag, jumped into the car and drove to a small hill where you can see the whole town. Problem was: it started to pour down just the moment I had unpacked my gear. Having forgotten to bring any raincover I had to retreat back to the car. Therefore this was shot out of the wide open trunk of a VW Golf 2, providing moderate cover from rain. It was probably safer for me to, but the lightning was quite far away from my position anyhow.

Anyhow, I was a little too late and a little to immobile and missed most of the action, but I really like the red lit sky and the lightning illuminating the wet road.

By the way: the correct exposure time is 112 seconds (bulb)
